Copyright Registrations

Copyright is a legal right to ownership given to creators of literary, dramatic, musical, artistic works and producers of cinematograph films and sound recordings. It is a heap of rights comprising of rights to reproduction, communication to the public, adaptation, and translation of the work. Copyright ensures certain minimum safeguards of the rights of ownership and enjoyment of the authors over their creations, thereby protecting and rewarding creativity.

Documents required:

A certified copy of the original or certified copies of extracts from disclaimers.

  • Affidavits
  • Declarations and
  • Other public documents can be made available on payment of a fee.

The affidavits should be in paragraph form and should contain a declaration of truth and verifiability. The costs involved in the design registration process may be regulated by the Controller according to the Fourth Schedule.
